This Privacy Policy explains how Wakala+ ("Wakala+", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our mobile application, web application and related services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details: name, phone number, email address, and password.
  • Agent & KYC details: business name, location, identification details and documents you submit for verification.
  • Transaction details: information required to process cash-in, cash-out, transfers and float requests.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address and log data.
  • Push tokens: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token to deliver notifications.

Information from third parties

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email) from that provider, as permitted by the scopes you approve.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and authenticate you (including one-time codes sent by SMS and email).
  • To process and record transactions and calculate commissions.
  • To provide customer support and send service-related notifications.
  • To detect, prevent and investigate fraud and abuse.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With mobile-network operators and banks as required to complete transactions you initiate.
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g. SMS, email and cloud infrastructure) under confidentiality obligations.
  • Where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

5. Security

We protect your data with PIN-protected transactions, encryption in transit, access controls and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

6. Your rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@wakala.plus.

7. Children

The Services are intended for adults operating as agents and are not directed at children under 18.
